In the last few months, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ has seen many changes in both main characters and storylines. There have been times where the viewers have been dissatisfied with the way the plot it playing out. As such, it has come to light that lead male actor Mohsin Khan, who plays Karthik Goenka, could be set to leave the show.
A report in TOI suggests that the show is about to take a leap which Khan was not in favour of. A source is quoted as saying, “Yes, Mohsin is planning to move on. Since the show is going in for a generation leap, he wouldn’t want to play an older character. So he decided to take a short break. Along with television, he would now want to try out different mediums like OTT and movies”.
“It’s all amicable between him and the production house. Mohsin has always considered producer Rajan Shahi his mentor and guide and he too has spoken highly about Mohsin in his interviews”, added the source.
