Dipika Kakar reveals being diagnosed with second stage liver cancer

Former ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ actress Dipika Kakar has revealed that she has been diagnosed with stage two liver cancer.

In a heartfelt statement shared on Instagram, she wrote, “As you all know, the past few weeks have been incredibly challenging for us… Walking into the hospital for pain in the upper area of my stomach, then discovering a tennis-ball-sized tumour in my liver, and finally learning that the tumour is stage two malignant (cancerous)—this has been one of the most difficult times we have ever experienced. But I am staying positive and determined to overcome this and emerge stronger, InshAllah! With my entire family by my side and the immense love and prayers pouring in from all of you, I know I will get through this. InshaAllah, please keep me in your prayers. Lots of love, Dipika.”

Earlier this month, Dipika Kakar’s husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, revealed in a YouTube vlog that she had been diagnosed with a tennis-ball-sized liver tumour. He recounted, “Dipika was unwell, and I suspected it might be a stomach-related issue. When I was in Chandigarh, she started experiencing stomach pain, which we initially thought was due to acidity. However, when the pain did not subside, she consulted our family doctor, who had also treated our father. He prescribed antibiotics and advised her to undergo blood tests. She remained on medication until 5th May, and when I returned, she seemed to be doing fine. However, following my father’s birthday, she once again experienced severe pain, and when her blood test results arrived, they indicated an infection in her body.”
