Amazon Prime Video cancels further seasons of ‘Citadel India’

Amazon Prime Video has announced the cancellation of the Indian adaptation of ‘Citadel Honey Bunny’.

According to Deadline, the Russo Brothers-created series has been discontinued after just one season, which starred Varun Dhawan in the lead role.

Meanwhile, the main ‘Citadel’ series is set to return for a second season featuring its leading stars, Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, shared, “Having successfully traversed India and Italy, storylines from both ‘Citadel Honey Bunny’ and ‘Citadel Diana’ will be integrated into the upcoming second season of the flagship series ‘Citadel’.”

Sanders added, “Although these widely enjoyed international chapters won’t continue as individual series, Season 2 of ‘Citadel’ promises to be our most thrilling yet. With high-stakes storytelling, exciting new additions to the cast, and bold, cinematic ambition, the new season will deepen the emotional arcs of Nadia, Mason, and Orlick as they face the formidable Manticore. We’re excited to reveal what’s next when ‘Citadel’ Season 2 premieres globally in Q2 of 2026.”
