‘The Kerala Story’ release deferred at UK cinemas after censor delays

Controversial film ‘The Kerala Story’, which was scheduled for release at UK cinemas on Friday (12th May 2023), has been deferred due to censor delays.

‘The Kerala Story’ helmed by Sudipto Sen and Vipul Amrutlal Shah, stars Adah Sharma. It is based on the alleged radicalisation of Kerala women by ISIS.

The release of ‘The Kerala Story’ was advertised heavily across radio stations in the UK. However, the campaign was pulled after its distributor informed stations that the film will be delayed due to delays with the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).

Since its release in India, the film has garnered Rs. 100 crore at the box office.

A new release date is yet to be confirmed.
