Box Office: ‘Pathaan’ on course to become highest grossing Indian film in UK ever

Yash Raj Films’ latest film ‘Pathaan’ is on course to becoming the highest grossing Indian film at the UK Box Office ever.

The Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer, has had an earth-shattering start at the ticket window globally. In the UK, the film has garnered an astronomical £1.4 million since its release. This excludes Sunday’s business.

On its opening day, the film opened up with £319,000 – the highest-grossing opening day for an Indian film in history. This was followed by £231,000 on Day 2 and a further £345,000 on Day 3 – the highest ever single day intake for an Indian film. On Saturday, the film recorded a whopping £556,000 – an historic figure for an Indian film at the UK box office.

The huge opening has already beaten the lifetime business of films like ‘Don 2’, ‘Ra.One’ and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’.

Currently, ‘Dhoom 3’ sits in the UK as the highest grossing Indian film in history with £2.7 million, followed by ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ with £2.6 million.
