Box Office: Akshay Kumar’s ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ clocks up Rs. 40 crore

Akshay Kumar’s latest release ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ has clocked up Rs. 40 crore in its opening weekend, according to initial data.

The film registered Rs. 10.70 crore on Friday, followed by Rs. 12.60 crore on Saturday and a further Rs. 16 crore (average) on Sunday. The film’s total weekend business was higher than ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ but less than Ranveer Singh’s ’83’. ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ has done well in small pockets of India.

‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ continues to give rival movies a run for their money. The Kartik Aaryan movie witnessed a jump of around 70% over the weekend. The fate of ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ will be decided from Monday’s business.
