Veteran actress and TV host Simi Garewal has publicly defended Abhishek Bachchan amid rumours of his split from wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
The speculation arose following allegations of an affair between Abhishek and his ‘Dasvi’ co-star, Nimrat Kaur. However, all three actors have chosen to stay silent on the matter. Adding an unexpected twist, Garewal recently shared a social media post in support of Abhishek, although she later deleted it.
In the post, Garewal shared a throwback clip from her popular talk show Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, where Abhishek expressed his strong views on loyalty and commitment. In the video, he passionately states, “If you commit to somebody on whatever level, then abide by that commitment; otherwise, don’t make it.” Garewal captioned the post, praising Abhishek’s values and decency. Filmmaker Farah Khan echoed this sentiment, commenting, “I fully agree he’s just the nicest guy.”
Not everyone was on board with the post, though; some critics felt the support was one-sided and dismissive of the allegations. Soon after, Garewal took down the post, leading to speculation that she might have removed it due to the backlash.
