Salman Khan to play Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu in Apoorva Lakhia’s next
Salman Khan is reportedly set to portray Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu in Apoorva Lakhia’s upcoming film.
The actor will take on the role of the courageous officer who sacrificed his life during the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. The film is scheduled to commence production in July 2025.
A source told Mid-Day, “Colonel Babu’s character is deeply heroic. He had demonstrated exceptional skill in various counterinsurgency and infiltration operations. The director has secured the rights to the first chapter, I Had Never Seen Such Fierce Fighting – The Galwan Clash of June 2020, which provides a first-hand account of the confrontation at Galwan Valley.”

The screenplay has been adapted by Suresh Nair in collaboration with Chintan Gandhi and Chintan Shah, with Shah also penning the dialogues.
The source further revealed, “Salman was thoroughly impressed by the story and will begin preparations by the end of May. He has already embarked on physical training for the role at his farmhouse in Panvel.”
