‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ selected for Busan International Film Festival

Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ has been selected to screen at this year’s Busan International Film Festival.

The film will screen as part of the official selection in the Open Cinema Section of the prestigious film festival. The Open Cinema section presents a collection of “new and internationally acclaimed films that offer an ideal mix of the popular with the artistic” cinema.

The 28th Busan International Film Festival will take place in Busan, South Korea from 4th-13th October 2023.

The film marked Johar’s return to the director’s seat after 7 years during his 25th anniversary year of working in the global entertainment industry.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has proved a hit with audiences globally as a quintessential Karan Johar entertainer with a social message, combined h stellar performances by its star leads, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, alongside veteran actors, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.

The film has grossed over $20M internationally holding its position as second highest grossing Indian film overseas post pandemic. It had an exceptional response in the UK market collecting £375,000 in the opening weekend alone.
