Pakistani Actress Mawra Hocane no longer a part of ‘Sanam Terri Kasam 2’ after India-Pak tensions

Director duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru have confirmed that Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane will no longer be part of the upcoming sequel to ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’. The decision follows recent tensions between India and Pakistan.

In an official statement, the filmmakers said: “Terrorism of any kind—against any nation, state, or people—must be condemned unequivocally. What’s particularly disheartening in this instance is the silence, or worse, the comments made by certain actors who have worked in India, received immense love, respect, and opportunity, yet failed to denounce such acts of terror against the country. Some have even gone so far as to criticise India’s legitimate actions to combat terrorism. In light of this, we stand firmly with our government and fully support its decisions. The nation comes first—always. Jai Hind.”

Earlier on Saturday, actor Harshvardhan Rane also announced that he would not return for the sequel if the original cast, including Mawra Hocane, was retained.
