Kartik Aaryan’s next ‘Freddy’ to release directly on digital?

Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming project ‘Freddy’ has been in the news due to the change of hands producing the action thriller. Initially, the film was due to be helmed by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, however, it emerged a few days ago that Ekta Kapoor and Jay Shewakramani will be producing the film. The film will be directed by Shashanka Ghosh.

Bollywood Hungama reports that ‘Freddy’ could release directly on a digital platform, skipping a theatrical release. A source told the publication, “Freddy is an edge of the seat romantic thriller and the makers are using complex screenplay technique to explore the subject. The entire team, including Kartik, Ekta, and Shashanka feel that the subject is meant for the digital medium as that’s where it will find its audience.”

Aaryan’s next film ‘Dhamaka’ is also releasing directly on digital.
