Diljit Dosanjh’s film on Jaswant Singh Khalra rechristened

Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Rampal’s upcoming film ‘Ghallughara’ has been renamed after creating uproar in a section of the community.

The film based on human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra’s life has been sitting with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for months. The CBFC raised objections to around 21 portions of the film. It is directed by Honey Trehan and helmed by Ronnie Screwvala. The latter had filed an appeal to the High Court about the proposed changes.

PinkVilla reports that the film will now be screening at TIFF in September, with a new name. A source said, “It will be first screened for the audience at TIFF in September, and an official announcement on it will be made soon. The makers are excited to take their film to a prestigious festival like TIFF, and most likely the premiere date will be September 11. Furthermore, the film has also been retitled to Punjab ’95, and an official announcement of that too will be made in a few days.”
