Akshay Kumar to collaborate with Raj Mehta & Karan Johar again?

The Raj Mehta directed movie, ‘Good Newwz’ (2019), gave Akshay Kumar one of the year’s best films. The movie received critical accolades as well as popular adulation. Kumar now is once again scheduled to rejoin Mehta for his third directorial, which will be produced by Karan Johar, if reports are to be believed.

A source close to the production said, according to Box Office Worldwide, “Right after the success of Good Newwz, Raj and Akshay had discussed the idea of collaborating yet again. After discussing various subjects, they have finally zeroed in on something that’s completely different from what they explored in their first collaboration. The yet untitled film falls in the dramatic space with a strong dose of emotions.”

Kumar is likely to start shooting in January or February of next year. Pre-production work has already begun, and the filmmakers are looking into shooting the film in a variety of places, with the United Kingdom being at the top of the list.

“Karan and Akshay too have a great equation and the producer is planning multiple projects with the Khiladi going forward. One of those is this Raj Mehta directorial,” the source added.

Kumar’s filmography shows him to be one of the busiest stars in the industry. And in March 2022, he is anticipated to begin his digital debut with ‘The End’ on Amazon Prime. A comedy alongside Priyadarshan is also in the works.
