AICWA criticise Pakistani actors for anti-India comments

AICWA criticise Pakistani actors for anti-India comments

Pakistani actors Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan have been sharply criticised by the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) over alleged “anti-India” remarks.

In a strongly worded statement, the association renewed its longstanding demand for a complete prohibition on the participation of Pakistani artists within the Indian entertainment industry.

According to the press release, Mahira Khan purportedly described India’s military response as “seriously cowardly”, while Fawad Khan was accused of endorsing “divisive narratives” rather than unequivocally condemning acts of terrorism.

AICWA condemned the alleged comments as “disrespectful to the nation” and “an insult to the brave soldiers who have sacrificed their lives in service of the country”.

Reaffirming its stance, the association declared that it upholds a “strict and unequivocal ban” on Pakistani artists, filmmakers, and financiers operating in India. “No Indian artist shall engage in collaboration with Pakistani talent, nor will any global platform be shared with them,” the statement concluded.
