Aamir Khan hints at ‘Mahabharat’ being his final film

Aamir Khan hints at ‘Mahabharat’ being his final film

Promotions for Aamir Khan’s upcoming film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ are in full swing, but the actor has hinted that his long-cherished dream of making a film on the ‘Mahabharat’ could mark the final chapter of his cinematic journey.

He stated, “It has always been my dream to make Mahabharat… Once I have fulfilled it, I might feel that I no longer have a reason to continue.”

Acknowledging the immense scope of the epic, Aamir emphasised that a single film could never do justice to its narrative. “You cannot tell Mahabharat in just one film. We are considering multiple movies, perhaps similar to The Lord of the Rings, where everything was shot together.”

Adding a reflective tone, Aamir expressed his deep connection to the project, explaining that while he hopes to work until his final breath, like the late A.K. Hangal, he might ultimately find himself able to step away from filmmaking after completing Mahabharat.

“Perhaps, once I have made Mahabharat, I will feel like I do not want to do anything after that. Shayad. I don’t know.”
