Know a little more about me…

1. How did you feel when you first started broadcasting on Lyca?

Very excited and hugely grateful! It’s a pleasure to join a fantastic team that’s shaking up the radio landscape and really going places. I’ve sat behind the mic countless times now, but every time I sit in that chair and push up the faders, there’s a kind of magic that fills the air. Radio addict for life!

2. Most memorable on-air moment so far?

In my old show I did, I accidentally confused the capital of Zambia [Lusaka] with the capital of Angola [Luanda]. Cue about 10-12 angry listeners messaging in to correct me, some of whom were listening in from Lusaka! Very funny, but I learned that day that the listeners really are listening in to your every word!

3. Favourite Bollywood Singer?

Shankar Mahadevan. Been a fan since the 90s!

4. Favourite Cuisine?

5. Favourite Bollywood Actor/Actress?

Ayushmann Khurrana & Madhuri – there can be only be one Queen

6. Favourite Bollywood song?

I can’t answer that! Let’s choose some iconic soundtracks instead, ‘Sholay’, ‘Disco Dancer’, ‘Kalank’ (shame the film was bad), ‘Delhi 6’.

7. If you had to pick four stars to star in your movie who would it be?

Tabu / Nawazuddin Siddiqui / George Clooney / Margot Robbie

8. Favourite movie (Bollywood or Hollywood) and why?

Let’s do two of each, one classic, one contemporary. Bollywood: Deewaar and Andhadhun. Hollywood: Jaws and Ocean’s Eleven. Great stories and great casting in all of them!

9. If you could interview one person who would it be (past or present person)?

Stevie Wonder. My musical idol. Every song he’s done touches my heart.

10. What is your favourite film line?

‘Jo Darr Gaya, Samjho Mar gaya.’ Also, Rafiki in the Lion King, ‘The past can hurt, but the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.” I want a tattoo of that!

11. What is your definition of "Happiness”?

Don’t be blue, just be YOU

12. Do you have a talent that we don’t already know about?

I’m a self taught keyboard player! You might see me around playing some time.

13. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

Somewhere by the coast under a palm tree where they serve the best mint tea….

14. What is your biggest fear?

Spiders! Heights! Permanent memory loss! The studio system crashing… I think that’s the scariest one.

Crazy – Gnarls Barkley
