Lyca Media CEO, Raj Baddhan, has been honored with an Entrepreneur of the Year award by Galaxy Shows at a London event.
Baddhan, who runs Lyca Media’s business consisting of Lyca Radio, Lyca Gold and Time FM, also broadcasts the ‘Drivetime’ show on Lyca Radio.
Baddhan was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Pankkaj Sodha for the successful launch of the UK’s first retro Asian music station, Lyca Gold. Sodha handed the award to Baddhan at his event, Bollywood Idol on Sunday night. Sodha also congratulated Baddhan for his major achievements whilst running the Lyca Media business.
Baddhan said, “Since my designation as CEO here at Lyca Media, not only me but my entire team have worked tirelessly to make cohesive changes and developments to revolutionise the network. With gratitude and pride, last night I was bestowed with an award for Entrepreneur of the Year, with particular recognition of my recent endeavors for Lyca Gold, the UK’s very first retro Asian Radio station.
Our network has not only achieved a sustained revenue growth over recent months, but also attracted many new, high profile and mainstream clients within both the European and Ethnic division. Lyca Media has also forged several long-lasting, fruitful partnerships with an array of high-profile Bollywood artists whom have recently performed in the UK, in addition to various sponsorship campaigns on mainstream Asian television. Furthermore, our efforts in developing Lyca Gold as a brand were clearly triumphant in fulfilling a gap within the marketplace, enabling the station to achieve it’s highest ever average listening hours within the first quarter of it’s commencement.

Lyca Gold launched in London and has proven a grand success with average listening hours at a record high in its first official ratings by RAJAR.
