Lyca Radio ropes in Kool Cakes as ‘Celebratory Partner’ for ninth anniversary

London’s popular Asian radio station, Lyca Radio has signed up Kool Cakes as its ‘Celebratory Partner’ to mark its ninth anniversary on-air.

Parent company Lyca Media, which turns nine on Saturday 4th February 2023, has been broadcasting since 2014, when it acquired the old Sunrise Radio frequencies – 1458AM, 1035AM and Time 107.5FM.

While the flagship station, Lyca Radio has been broadcasting on 1458AM since its inception, Dilse Radio was rebranded to Lyca Gold on 1035AM nearly 18 months ago. Lyca Radio focusses on recent Bollywood, Bhangra and Indi-Pop hits, while Lyca Gold remains the UK’s first and only retro Asian music station.

Raj Baddhan, CEO of Lyca Media said, “We are hugely grateful to our dear listeners for the love they have showered us with over the past nine years. It just wouldn’t have been possible without their support. A special thanks to our commercial partners for their loyalty to the Lyca brands. I also want to pay tribute to Kool Cakes for jumping on board as our birthday celebratory partner. Kool Cakes is a name that has been synonymous with some of the biggest and most memorable parties and events in the UK and therefore I’m honoured to be working with Kool Cakes for this very special milestone.”
