Now, Varun Dhawan teams up with Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar for Shashank Khaitan's nextVarun Dhawan, who is currently shooting for filmmaker-father David Dhawan’s comic caper, has given his nod to Shashank Khaitan’s next, making it their third collaboration after 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' and 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania'. Contrary to expectations, the duo is not reuniting for the third film in the franchise nor are they coming together for 'Rannbhoomi', the period film which has been put on hold for now. This one is an out-and-out commercial entertainer, which has Varun paired alongside two actresses.
The Karan Johar production revolves around three principal characters. The makers have zeroed in on Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar as Varun’s leading ladies. The casting coup was pulled off thanks to the script that called for fresh pairing. “After contemplating several options, Shashank and KJo finalised the trio. They liked the script and were immediately on board,” reveals a source close to the development. The yet untitled venture is still in the prep. Shashank is finalising the script and getting the logistics in place to start shooting by mid-2020.
After wrapping up the comedy for which he is shooting with Sara Ali Khan and Paresh Rawal, Varun will move on to Sriram Raghavan’s next, in which he plays the 1971 Indo-Pak war hero, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, before kicking off this film.
Kiara has 'Good Newwz' alongside Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh by the year-end, with Shashank on board as one of the producers of the film. She has also finished shooting for 'Indoo Ki Jawani'. For Bhumi, this film will be her third venture with KJo, after the Vicky Kaushal-starrer, 'Bhoot: The Haunted Ship', and the period saga, 'Takht', fronted by Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.
